who are we?
anahata's founders:
Corita Brown, certified Anusara teacher, has been studying yoga since 1994. Her teaching style has emerged out of a strong personal practice developed with the loving guidance and support of her teachers: John Friend, Bridget Woods-Kramer, Dana Flynn, Amy Ippoliti, and Sarah Michelson. In 2001 Corita completed the Laughing Lotus Teacher Training in New York City (Compliant with National Yoga Alliance Teaching Certification Standards) with Dana Flynn and Amy Ippoliti and subsequently taught classes at the Laughing Lotus Center in New York City. Since 2001, Corita has taught classes and workshops in the United States, Spain, England, Germany, Mexico and Guatemala. In 2004, she co-founded Anahata Center for Yoga and Holistic Therapies: Barcelona´s first Anusara yoga studio.
Janet Wilson trained in reflexology during 1999 at the Oxford School of Reflexology. Over the following 2 years she offered treatments whilst travelling round Central and South America. Returning to the UK in 2002 she undertook training for Indian Head Massage before moving to Barcelona. Since living in Barcelona she has received the Reiki 1 and 2 attunements which have enhanced the therapies offered.

Emily Graves began her training in the Usui system of Reiki in New York in 2001 where she received her Master and Teaching certification. She has been offering reiki sessions and classes in all levels of Usui reiki since then. She received further Master training in Spain in 2003. She was attuned in the first level Karuna reiki system in 2001. She received her certification in Basic Thai Massage in 2003 and continues her study of Advanced Thai Massage Techniques in Spain.
Emily currently lives and Works in the United States.

Carrie Lewis received her first official massage training at the in the year 2000 at the Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute in California. She continues her training here in Barcelona, studying Traditional Chinese Massage (Tui Na) at the Kinetena, Quiromasaje (treatment of specific injuries) and Lymphatic Drainage at Ali Bey, 25, and Usui Reiki with various Reiki masters in Barcelona. Her other passion is singing with several musical groups here in Bcn, in additon to organizing workshops which explore breath and the voice.
Pilar Lomba graduated as Especialist in Natural Therapeutics by the NMSNT, in Albuquerque, NM, USA on January 2003. She studied there Polarity Therapy, Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Sports and Pregnancy Massage, Shiatsu, Flowers Essences and Aromatherapy. She received further training in Core Synchronism by Robert Stevens. After getting the NCTMB Certification, she worked as a therapist in Albuquerque at the Earthwise Center (January 2003-Augost 2003),coming back to BCN afterwards, where she continues her training in Shiatsu and her bodywork and teaching activities.
Pilar is currently on maternal leave and will be returning in Autumn
Susana Garcia Blanco is a certified anusara teacher of Anusara yoga, a yoga system that blends science, tradition and celebration of the heart goodness. She practices yoga since 1998 and has been a dedicated student of Anusara since 2000 with John Friend, Sianna Sherman and Mitchel Bleier. She has also explored other yoga styles (Ashtanga, Iyengar in India). She studies Rajanaka Tantra philosophy with Dr. Douglas Brooks. Her interest in Philosophy and Mythology is transmitted in her teaching.

Vika Kleiman has been trained in a range of yoga styles (Ashtanga Iyengar, Nata and Kundalini) since 1994; developing a practice and teaching method that is in constant transformation. She also works as an imporvisational dancer, contact imporvisation teacher and professor of dance and body awareness at the Music Conservatory of Catalonia. Vika recieved her training in India, Japan, Argentina and United States. Currently, Vika travels annually to Japan where she studies Nata Yoga, a style of yoga developed by Sakashita Yukio Sensei, based on the seven breath movements /Image Kokiu./ Vika wishes to acknowledge, with gratitude, her teachers: Master Ji M.S Viswanaath, Sakashita Yukio Sensei, Sakashita Yoko Sensei, Teresa Tudisco and Valeria Lemos.
Maya Guilmard is French-American. She has a Bachelor of Arts in biology and botany from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and a Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM) from Five Branches Institute. She is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, US Board Certified (NCCAOM), and is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbologist, California State Board Certified (CAB). In addition to her studies in acupuncture and herbology, Maya also studies tuina massage, medical qigong and taiqi at the 5 Branches Institute College and Clinic of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)in Santa Cruz, California. Maya worked as an intern in the hospitals in the Zhejiang College of TCM in Hangzhou, and in the Chengdu University of TCM in Sichuan, China and has treated over 400 patients in the college community clinic. During Maya’s extensive travels throughout India, she has studied reiki I, II, and III, as well as ayurvedic massage, yoga and meditation.
Maya currently practices acupuncture in Barcelona, where she specializes in weight loss, gynecological issues, pain management, digestive, and emotional problems.
Suzy Eastwood has been studying and furthering her interests in the field of complementary health and natural therapies for the last 15 years. These include homeopathy, Bach flower remedies, naturopathy, herbal medicines, natural cosmetics, yoga, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Suzy studied Thai massage with Master Lek Chaiya in Chiang Mai where she received her certification in Traditional Thai Herbal Massage in 2001. She has also recently completed studies with Guillermo Ferrara at the Spa Club Escuela de Masaje y Yoga in his 12 Method approach among which are holistic massage, 7 Chakra massage, Ayurvedic massage, hot stone massage and shiatsu techniques.
